Reaching 500.000

I'm glad to post that our car is now reaching half a million kilometers without any major problems. It's ben almost 2 years now we started working with this car and it is really giving us good results. We haven't spend over 2,500€ in repairs sso that is really great.
Recently many Mercedes have ben replaced by Toyotas here in Mogan and they are also giving great results. The few Seat Altea we had alare slowely dissapearing and also being replaced by Toyotas. There is also a Prius Plus that should start working soon; the first hybrid car as a taxi here in the south of the island :) I'm really looking forward to see how this car will perform here in Mogan with all these hills and turns :)

What a heat!!

It started yesterday but today it's quite hotter than it was yesterday. Currently we have 32 degrees in the shadow and it's already 17:00 in the afternoon! I took the pic below when driving to Puerto Rico to start working... 38 degrees!!! I hate these days with that extreme high temperatures and I hate them even more when I have to go to work :(

What a pity....

Yesterday I drove past that car I haven't seen for quite a long time. I use to see it almost every day driving through Puerto Rico while I was working and I thought the owner has just left. It's a TVR Chimera and yesterday I saw it standing there, with a lot of dirt on it and almost flat tires :(
What a pity!!

Taxi Starting fee increased

Today the starting fee for the trips inside and between Arguineguin and Puerto Rico have been raised. It used to be 2.15€ at day and 2.70€ at night and from today on it will be 2.25€ at day and 2.80€ at night (22:00-06:00) and bank holidays. An error in my opinion as I think the starting fee should have been kept the same and maybe change the distance you have to drive for the click to start counting...

The trips outside Arguineguin and Puerto Rico will remain the same.

Slow Easter Holidays

Easter Holidays have gone and I've to say that I'm really shocked to see how slow it has been during the holidays here in Puerto Rico. Just last year it was so busy, lots of cars every where, people walking all night long up and down the Shopping Centre, people parking their cars where ever they like to, buses unable to leave or pick up tourists because they where unable to drive through the fully car parked streets.... If you've been to Puerto Rico in Easter you know what I'm talking about :)
But this year it has been really quiet....  The only ones being busy are the people working in the McDonald's :)

Saint Patrick's day 2012

Today it was really busy here in Puerto Rico. With the celebration of the Saint Patrick's day 2012 there were tons of people going out resulting in long queues at the taxi ranks especially in the Puerto Rico Shopping Center!
When I arrived to start working I was wondering about any people dressed in green with painted faces and those huge hat: At the beginning I thought there was a football match or something like that :) Sorry for my ignorance!
