I'm mad today

I'm very angry today! I had a trip to the airport this morning I was not able to do myself so I give it away to another taxi. Unfortunately this guy decided to take another trip who was paying the full taxi price and did send another car to pick up my trip. So when I woke up this morning I had some missed calls from a foreign number on my phone and I had a bad feeling. I called the car I gave the trip and he told me that he found a better trip so he took it. I said that was fine if he found something better but he should at least have send another car to pick up my clients who were waiting for him at the hotel.... It was his responsibility as he accepted the trip when I offered it to him!
So for now I just send an email to apologise to my clients.... This guy will not get another trip from me, that's for sure! He won't get a second chance from me...

Now you can see that this is a good reason why I don't want to charge the money for the trips upfront. If something like this happens you still have your money in your pocket to get a taxi on your own.

What a change :(

This morning we had such a nice weather: Bright blue sky, very comfortable temperature and fresh air blowing :) When I left home at the afternoon to go and pick up my little one at school: warm air, huge haze (big time calima!) So now I have watering eyes and a dry throat :( Hope this doesn't last long!! Would be great if we could have some rain to get rid of this awful weather.

Quite hot today

What a difference to the last few weeks where we had nice day temperature under the sun with a fresh breeze and very cold nights.
Today it was quite hot: The temperature in Puerto Rico was reaching 25 deg. Celsius and about 27 in San Agustin. The breeze wasn't fresh anymore...

Tonight the temperature hasn't fall that much either... looks like we are having some kind of weather change.

Haven't see rain for quite a long time now :( Hopefully we get some before the summer!!

Busy night!

Tonight it was very busy at Arguineguin... worked till 4:30 in the morning :O Arguineguin was really busy till about 3 and made a lot of trips from Arguineguin to the Puerto Rico Shopping Center during the whole night. Good there were not may problems with drunk people and fights which, unfortunately, have become quite normal during these kind of parties. When I arrived home about 5 in the morning it was really cold here in Maspalomas: only 10 degrees Celsius :OO

Carnival parade in Arguineguin

Today is the carnival parade in Arguineguin. It'll start at 19:00 and thus many roads will be closed at that time which will make it quite difficult to drive through Arguineguin. Let's see what happens :)

Snow in Gran Canaria

So after all there was no way for me to go up into the mountains with my family to meet the snow this year... a pitty :(
So here is a picture I took from a newspaper. Maybe we can go another day...

Snow in Gran Canaria!

It's cold! And it's not only my impression but many people have told me that it's unusually cold for Gran Canaria. Last night we got minus degrees for the first time this year, in the mountains, of course ;)

I started working this morning at 4 and we had 12 degrees Celsius in Puerto Rico; very low for this part of the island!
Now it's about 8 o'clock and we only have 14 degrees.

Maybe I can do a little trip this afternoon and drive ti the mountains to take a look around ;)
